RICHMOND, VA – ICE officers issued an arrest detainer for Rick Martinez Lopez, a Guatemalan national, illegal alien, and convicted pedophile — but local authorities ignored the detainer and released him back into the community.
Lopez is a registered sex offender with multiple convictions, including sexual assault of a child, yet he was allowed to walk free on Virginia streets.
This isn’t compassion — it’s barbaric.
When local officials refuse to honor ICE detainers, they’re not protecting immigrants — they’re protecting predators. Every child in that city was put at risk because of political cowardice.
Law enforcement’s job is to defend the innocent — not release the guilty.
