Need To Know 101for Hellinois voters

Where is your gas tax going?

Well, here of course:

Gov. Pritzker's budget prioritizes illegal aliens and has redirected over $300 million from the Road Fund, even as the state’s infrastructure continues to deteriorate.

The recent $53 billion budget includes a $171 million shift of gas tax revenue from the Road Fund to the General Revenue Fund to help close the deficit.

Other transportation-related funds, such as vehicle registration fees, have been diverted in recent years, totaling over $300 million since 2019.

These funds were intended to support the state’s 150,000 miles of roads and 26,000 bridges, many of which are in poor condition, with a $60 billion backlog in needed repairs.

According to the Illinois Policy Institute, Illinois has spent billions on illegal aliens in recent years providing free travel, free shelter, free food, free healthcare and other free services. Meanwhile our roads and bridges are left unrepaired.
