Those who protested Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court in 2018 had their charges dropped, or were ordered to pay fines as small as $50.
Two years later, the rioters who tried to burn down the federal courthouse in Portland, Ore. with federal agents inside were let off with no criminal record, in exchange for community service and avoiding trouble for a short time.
Yet hundreds of non-violent protesters associated with January 6th have been sent to prison.
